![]() Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) KitCongress first proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in 1983. Since then, Exchange Club CAP Centers and Exchange Clubs have conducted activities across the country to raise awareness of Child Abuse Prevention issues and efforts. A grant from the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation (ALCWF) for 2009-2010 enabled us to expand our prevention materials. Working in Unity for Service-and in partnership with the ALCWF, our Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention network is making a powerful and positive difference in the lives of children and families across our great country. The following materials are resources that can be used by parents and caregivers of children. We hope these resources provide information about the needs of children and help build strong families and safe homes.
Note: Other brochures, e.g. The Crying Code and Time Out Teddy are available at cost through the National Exchange Club Supply Department The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, Inc. is committed to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual welfare of children through the effective dissemination of knowledge. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with ALCWF toward this worthy goal. Having trouble or worried about problems with your child? Call Childhelp at 1-800-4-A-CHILD.
